While first and foremost a seafood spot, donut brunch in the den is where it’s at. With a vibe of quintessential 70’s decadence, BeetleCat is a feast for your eyes and your stomach, including wood paneling, orange trays, vintage brown coffee mugs and all of the nostalgia of grandma’s house. While not directly on the beltline, Beetlecat is just across the street from an entrance.
What to eat? DONUTS! donuts that are served hot and in fun variations like lemon poppy seed, p.o. box (pistachio orange), plain Jane, and churro. Also, we recommend the glazed chicken sandwich (fried chicken and sunny side up egg sandwiched between two glazed donuts), the burger (also sandwiched between donuts) and any of the hashbrowns. We devoured the BLT hash topped with an actual salad of greens, tomatoes and bacon. The donut holes from the kids menu are like fresh beignets. But we ate most of them, sorry kids!
Pipsqueak Tip The outdoor patio is great for kids, and even has a putting green, cornhole boards and giant Jenga.
