A bustling, James Beard Award-winning neighborhood trattoria in San Francisco’s Mission District

Source: Delfina

Why go? A tried-and-true destination, this Mission mainstay from Craig and Anne Stoll still “wows” with Northern Italian staples done superbly well, notably fantastic homemade pastas and a vibrant atmosphere and service that makes everyone feel at home and keeps fans and locals coming back for more. P.S. There’s also Pizzeria Delfina, a casual pizza parlor next door serving traditional pies.

What to order? The menu changes seasonally, but a few evergreen standards abide. Two of Delfina’s top-tier dishes are the Spaghetti with plum tomatoes – straightforward but perfect; same goes for the roast chicken with olive oil mashed potatoes.

Pipsqueak tip The food is so delicious – and we encourage your kids to try it all! – but in case your little ones want something a bit more simple, they will happily accommodate. Plus with 6 high chairs and 2 boosters, you won’t have to worry about seating.
