Why go? Despite being in a rough part of town, fans will assure you that this place is worth the wait. A terrific breakfast/ brunch rewards those who arrive early to get in line at this SF legend.
What to order? Known for its outstanding chili-cheddar cornbread with jalapeño jelly (a favorite of Chefs Alton Brown and Guy Fieri) and other down-home brunch classics, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We are partial to the gluten-free pancakes and frittata of the day.
Pipsqueak tip A true diamond in the rough on Sixth Street, nothing can dissuade customers from pancakes at Dottie’s – and hour-long lines typically form for brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings. So be sure to get their early on weekends (they open at 730am) or venture out during the week (note they are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
