Are waiter-less restaurants the future of dining out? Quite possibly, and if so then Inamo’s leading the way with its innovative high-tech set-up. Children love this place, which has two popular sites in the West End and one in Camden. Overhead projectors beam down the menu – a mix-and-match of pan-Asian tapas inspired by Sichuan, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisine – onto an interactive touch-screen table. Select the dishes you fancy, then you can play Battleships or doodle while you wait.
What to eat?If your sights are set on authentic Asian food you might be left wanting (pass on the sushi and sashimi – you can get better elsewhere), but there’s plenty in its favour, from tofu poke bowls and Korean chicken wings to vibrant noodle and curry bowls. Gimmicky puds appear to be conceived with kids (little and grown up) in mind: chocolate dipping dessert and Baileys and Oreo cheesecake anyone?
Pipsqueak tip The kids’ menu offers the likes of edamame, chicken or salmon with rice, or Singapore noodles. Check their website for kids-eat-free offers during school holidays.
