We can’t get enough of The Avalon (us and the rest of the OTP world, right?) The green spaces, ride-on train, playground, kids shopping — ALL the shopping — truly a family-friendly oasis. But the best part is the food, and our favorite is Rumi’s Kitchen. Named after a 13th century Persian poet, it’s upscale but approachable, and the food is delicious and interesting for pipsqueak palates to explore new flavors.
What to eat? The yogurt trio is fun for little hands to dip the soft and warm pita into. Each table gets a small plate of noshes including olives, radish, feta and walnuts that our pipsqueaks enjoyed snacking on. The Lamb Koobideh Kabob entree is spiced perfectly and plenty of food to share with a little one.
Pipsqueak Tip Lunch is a great time to dine at Rumi’s. The restaurant is bustling and full of energy, making it a nice spot where kids don’t have to stay quiet during the meal.
