Chef Anna Hansen’s boldly-conceived conglomerations of global ingredients are kaleidoscopic in their scope. Her excellent fusion fare has won her many accolades in the last 20 years, and the ground floor café of her original Clerkenwell restaurant is a great place to get stuck in. Imaginative breakfast and brunch draws in the crowds, too.
What to eat? Kick off with grilled tamarind and miso marinated aubergine or the signature sugar-cured prawn omelette with smoked chilli sambal.
Pipsqueak tip There are plenty of small plates to satisfy as a lunchtime graze and children are encouraged to share – they might well fancy the za’tar focaccia, courgette, pea and pecorino fritters, arancini or cassava chips.
