Being tucked away inside the plush Intercontinental hotel on Hyde Park Corner, this high-end Italian restaurant is rather easy to miss, but those in the know make a bee-line for Theo Randall’s sophisticated, modern iterations of Italian food made with top-drawer ingredients. The dining room, all pastel shades and tasteful blond wood, has a modern, comfortable feel, and being windowless means it really is all about the food.
What to eat? Seriously good pasta and refined rustic dishes include minestrone primavera, risotto de mare, wood-roasted and stuffed guinea fowl and the signature Amalfi lemon tart.
Pipsqueak tip Head to Buckingham Palace or Hyde Park with the kids for a pre- or post-prandial runaround.
