Head here at lunchtime to share A Wong’s faultless, delectable and good-value dim sum with children – the little steamed or baked packages bursting with umami loveliness are just perfect for little mouths. While the ‘best dim sum in London’ title is in perennial debate, A. Wong lives up to its reputation as one of the city’s finest purveyors of inventive, modern dim sum and exponents of Chinese food culture.
What to eat? In the convivial setting, you might opt for honey-baked pork pasty or a taut pork and prawn dumpling with pork crackling and Shanghai steamed dumplings. The custard bun for the sweet-toothed deserves its reputation as one of the best puds in the city.
Pipsqueak tip They always keep tables aside for walk-ins, but if you’re planning on making a special trip here, do book.
