Source: Hali'imaile General Store
Why go? Hali‘imaile General Store is Chef Bev Gannon’s original and most acclaimed restaurant featuring eclectic American food with Asian overtones – the essence of modern Hawaii food. The restaurant does its best to source all of her ingredients on the islands, and relies heavily on local specialties like Kalua pork, fresh island fish, and coconut.
What to order? Some don’t miss items to try: Sashimi Napoleon, Ahi Poke, Coconut Seafood Curry, and Salmon Scallop & Shrimp Dynamite. They also have nice vegetarian menu for those looking for a break from surf and turf. But be sure to leave room for dessert! Their Hali’imaile Pineapple Upside-Down Cake and “Love In A Jar” are to die for.
Pipsqueak tip There is a keiki menu but the main dining is accessible enough; some kid-friendly options include Bev’s Famous Crab Pizza, Popcorn Shrimp, various salads, a Veggie Tostada and their Brie & Grape Quesadilla with cilantro macadamia nut pesto and sweet pea guacamole… yum!
